BP3_Quizlet

Quizlet.com is a very easy to use website that allows you to create flashcards and quizzes. It also allows you to view and play works that others have created.  Upon entering the site you will be able to choose whether you would like to view others work or create your own. I decide to look and see what others had created first. You can type in a topic in the search box and everything related to that topic will show up. It was very simple and to the point. I viewed the flash cards and played the games attached to it. After that I decide to create flash cards for onset and rime, as my kindergarten friends need to learn that. It was easy to create the flash cards and this is when I realized that you don’t have to create the games. Once you create the flashcards the program creates the games. Creating the test was easy and the program gives you a variety of choices when creating tests. The only thing that I did not like was when I wrote the words in onset- rime form the audio said the name of the letter instead of the sound the letter makes. Also the test does not cater for audio test questions. This would make it impossible for students to work independent of the teacher for this particular topic. I think they should tweak the program so that the people who create the flashcards could add audio to it. Overall I think this is a wonderful teacher and student Web 2.0 tool. I see myself using this one.

  1. Cheri I like the idea of the program creating the games when you create the original flash cards. I am currently teaching a section of math and I believe this program would work wonders with the various levels I am teaching. I can't wait to test it.
