BP4_Little Bird Tales

Little bird tales is a tool in which one can create a story as well as illustrations to go with it. Upon signing up you have the options to create a story, View others stories or create/ manage your class. As a teacher I can use this interactive tool to encourage my students to write and be creative. Allowing them to view others’ projects will give them new ideas and hopefully broaden their mind in terms of what they believe they can accomplish. I like that students can even add audio recordings to their story. I think that this will be especially good for my Kindergarten students because sometimes they misspell words. If I require them to add their audio recording to their story others will be able to know what they meant to write. They can also keep it as a keepsake to look back at when they are older.

I decided to test out the site. The first thing I did was I created a story of my own.  It was easy for me but I do understand that it will be a lot more difficult for them to understand the concept of creating an online storybook. I figure we could do a few as a whole class first.

Next I decided to set up my class. I just did a test class to try it out. That was also an easy task. It would probably take you a minute to input the information for each student.

The last thing I did was to watch a storybook that someone on the site made and posted. It was about a trip she took. I started to think that we could even use this tool to learn about other places and different experiences that people have.

I think that this is a wonderful learning tool and resource for teachers and students of all ages and I will definitely be using this one with my students.
